teaching and coaching
alas for those that never sing,
but die with all their music in them!
~oliver wendell holmes
perhaps my greatest passion as a cellist is teaching. i enjoy growing with my students and exploring more, with every lesson, how to best serve each of them as an individual. i the unique ways in which each student can use their instrument to find confidence, musicianship, and expression.
every student should have a teacher with whom they will work well and be able to grow. if you are looking for private cello instruction for yourself or a loved one, contact me to set up a preliminary risk-free lesson. if you feel that it will not be a good match for any reason, please let me know at the first lesson and you will not be asked to pay.
i am currently teaching at the kennelly keys music store in lynnwood, wa. i am willing to do in-home lessons with an additional fee for select locations upon availability. the minimum length for an in-home lesson is one full hour. i often teach in schools in the edmond school district as well, doing both coaching and private lessons. if your school does not currently have a cello coach please contact your orchestra instructor and ask if they would be interested in having a cellist come in for a day of private instructions. many students choose to take a lesson on their lunch or during their orchestra class.
